The Maung Asri (Superior, Safe, Healthy, Clean, and Beautiful) team\nof the Depok City Government conducted an enforcement operation against\nillegal parking on the pavement of Margonda Raya Street, Depok. A total\nof 18 motorcycles had their tyres deflated and 2 vehicles were\nwheel-locked.<\/p>\n
\u201cFor two-wheeled vehicles that were warned against parking in the\nwrong direction, 18 vehicles had their tyres deflated and two were\nlocked, namely one private car and one public transport vehicle,\u201d said\nMaung Asri Team Chairman Tri Sakti Anggoro to journalists on Monday (9\nMarch 2024).<\/p>\n
The illegal parking enforcement operation on the Margonda pavement\nwas carried out on Friday (6 March). He stated that the team deployed\nalso provided education to riders to prevent them from parking\nillegally.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe provided direct education at the location to two-wheeled and\nfour-wheeled vehicle riders. The enforcement targeted vehicles parked on\nthe pavement. We adopted a persuasive and humane approach with the\ncommunity,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Sakti stated that illegal parking on the Margonda pavement had caused\nresidents considerable distress. He expressed hope that the illegal\nparking enforcement would restore the pavement\u2019s function for\npedestrians.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe aim to increase public awareness about traffic discipline and the\nuse of public spaces.
