Depok-Bogor 2nd track ready<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): The Ministry of Public Works has completed the
\nconstruction of a 23-km double track railway from Depok to Bogor,
\nWest Java.<\/p>\n
The Ministry spokesman Bambang Utojo said yesterday the Rp 22
\nbillion project is now being tried out.<\/p>\n
The double track system will make the trip between Bogor and
\nDepok safer and faster than the one track system, he said.<\/p>\n
It will take less than one hour for the new train to cover
\nBogor-Depok. The old train took around 90 minutes to cover the
\nroute, Bambang said.<\/p>\n
The project was carried out by state-owned contractor, PT Adhi
\nKarya. By hiring 120 workers per day the contractor completed
\nthe project five months ahead of schedule, he added.<\/p>\n
According to the previous schedule, the project would be
\nfinished in March 1996, but the company completed it in November
\nthis year.<\/p>\n
The double track system is equipped with seven bridges and
