Demolition at BSD done on wrong site<\/p>\n
TANGERANG (JP): Demolition work on a 2.5-hectare plot of
\ndisputed land at the Bumi Serpong Damai housing complex, which
\nled to a clash between security guards and officers of the
\nTangerang District Court on Saturday, was undertaken on the wrong
\nsite, an official said on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
Arief Setyabudi Cany, head of the Tangerang office of the
\nNational Land Agency (BPN), said that BPN officers remeasuring
\nthe disputed land on Wednesday discovered the error. The disputed
\nplot is claimed by the housing complex and Rusli Wahyudi, a
\nresident of South Jakarta.<\/p>\n
Arief said that the land was remeasured at the request of the
\ndistrict court, in order to verify the exact location of the
\nplot.<\/p>\n
\"The remeasuring was 95 percent accurate so that there is no
\nneed for the parties involved in the dispute to worry,\" he said.<\/p>\n
Arief stated that he is not involved in the court case over
\nthe disputed land.<\/p>\n
Four security guards of the housing complex were questioned by
\nthe police for their alleged involvement in the torture of an
\nintelligence officer, identified as Muhasan, of the local
\nmilitary district after last week's clash.<\/p>\n
The conflict began when the security guards tried to stop
\nthree bulldozers, which were deployed by court orders to remove
\ntrees and a wall in the Griya Loka section of the housing
\ncomplex. The bulldozer was escorted by soldiers and police
\nofficers.<\/p>\n
The bulldozers retreated after the security guards began to
\nthrow stones at the machines.<\/p>\n
Residents of the housing complex showed relief after they
\nlearned that their houses were not located on the disputed land.
\nThe court had sent notification letters to the inhabitants to
\nvacate the site before today's court scheduled demolition of the
\nland.<\/p>\n
\"We feel like we are being terrorized, because the court sent
\nus letters without clearly mentioning who the notifications were
\nmeant for. I suggest if it's not yet clear which site is in
\ndispute, please don't terrorize us,\" Mrs. Jemi, a resident, said.<\/p>\n
Prosecutor Ansyori Thoyib apologized for any inconvenience the
\nresidents' may have suffered because of the court's
\nnotifications.<\/p>\n
However, BSD's lawyer, Thomas, said that the management of the
\nhousing complex was now calculating material losses caused by the
\ncase and would pursue a legal suit.<\/p>\n
It was reported earlier that Rusli claims that he bought the
\nland from its owner, identified as The Kim Tien, who died before
\ndocuments for the land deal were completed.<\/p>\n
BSD spokesman Doni Rahajoe strongly denied this claim, saying
\nthat his company's shareholders, PT Supra Veritas and PT Simas
\nTunggal Center, bought the land from The's heirs, identified as
\nThe Men Nio, The Tan Nio and The On. (41\/emf)<\/p>",
