The Democratic Party has opened up regarding the arrival of former\nJakarta Governor Anies Baswedan to meet with Indonesia\u2019s sixth President\nSusilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) and Democratic Party Chairman Agus\nHarimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) in Cikeas, Bogor, West Java. According to the\nDemocrats, Anies was not invited.<\/p>\n
As compiled by detikcom on Wednesday (25\/3\/2026), SBY held a\nhalalbihalal event at his residence in Cikeas. Several figures attended,\nfrom the daughter of Indonesia\u2019s fourth President Abdurrahman Wahid (Gus\nDur), Yenny Wahid, to Anies Baswedan.<\/p>\n

Anies Baswedan, besides meeting SBY and AHY, also met Didit\nHediprasetyo, son of President Prabowo Subianto, during the Lebaran\nmoment. Anies\u2019 spokesperson, Sahrin Hamid, revealed the meaning of the\nencounter.<\/p>\n

Sahrin acknowledged that in politics, meetings between figures can\ngive rise to meanings and interpretations. Nevertheless, he viewed\nAnies\u2019 meeting with SBY and AHY as part of silaturahmi.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe also understand that in politics, every meeting certainly has\nmeaning and gives rise to interpretations. However, the above meeting\nshould be interpreted as an Eid silaturahmi moment among national\nfigures,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Democrats Say Anies Was Not Invited<\/p>\n
The Democrats then opened up about Anies\u2019 arrival. Democratic Party\nDeputy Secretary-General Renanda Bachtar said the halalbihalal event\ncommittee did not invite Anies, but as good hosts, they treated every\nguest well.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe committee did not invite him. However, as good hosts, whoever\ncomes, we treat them well,\u201d Renanda told reporters on Wednesday\n(25\/3).<\/p>\n
Renanda said there was no conversation between Anies, SBY, and AHY in\nthat meeting. He said the three of them only shook hands.<\/p>\n
