Demak (ANTARA) - The Demak Regency Health Office in Central Java is\nproviding psychological trauma healing to students who suffered food\npoisoning from the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme provided by the\nnutrition service unit (SPPG) in Pilangwetan Village, Demak Regency.<\/p>\n
\u201cTrauma healing is provided using hypnotherapy to help restore the\npsychological condition of students and teachers after the food\npoisoning incident. The target is not only students who were previously\naffected by food poisoning, but also teachers who did not consume the\nfood but still experienced trauma, so they also receive similar\ntherapy,\u201d said the head of the Kebonagung Community Health Centre, Arif\nSetiawan, in Demak, Friday.<\/p>\n
The recovery of the psychological condition of students who study\nunder the YASUA Pilangwetan Foundation, Kebonagung District, is not only\ndone once; additional therapy will be provided as needed until they are\nfully recovered.<\/p>\n
According to him, the Community Health Centre continues to monitor\nstudents and teachers who have been affected so that their psychological\ncondition can recover quickly.<\/p>\n
In addition to therapy, health workers also provide education about\nthe importance of maintaining food hygiene and washing hands with soap\nto prevent potential food poisoning from recurring.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe also conduct health checks and monitoring through the school\nhealth unit (UKS) for students. Currently, many of them are able to\nreturn and are ready to receive meals,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
He added that the Islamic boarding school and school are also asked\nto continue monitoring the food preparation process, including ensuring\nthat the cooking process is carried out properly in the morning and\nafternoon.<\/p>\n
Previously, a number of students in the Kebonagung District\nexperienced food poisoning after eating food from the MBG programme\nprovided by the SPPG in Pilangwetan Village.<\/p>\n
Of the approximately 1,500 beneficiaries at the school, ranging from\nMadrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI), MTs, to Madrasah Aliyah (MA) levels, 134\nstudents were suspected of being affected.
