        "content": "<p>Dell boosts plant capacity<\/p>\n<p>KUALA LUMPUR (AFX-ASIA): Dell Computer Corp said it will<br>\ntriple its production capacity in Malaysia by opening a second<br>\nplant in Penang next month.<\/p>\n<p>Dell Asia-Pacific customer centre vice-president Simon Wong<br>\ndeclined to reveal the additional investment planned but said the<br>\nmove will give the  company \"significant space to plan for<br>\nfurther expansion over the next three  years.\"<\/p>\n<p>Wong said the U.S. slowdown is not expected to affect Dell's<br>\noperations in  the Asia-Pacific region.<\/p>\n<p>Dell's existing plant in Penang, which opened in 1995, employs<br>\n1,600 workers and produces a wide range of products including<br>\nnotebook and desktop computers.<\/p>\n<p>Wong also said Dell is considering supplying the U.S. market<br>\nwith notebook computers from its Malaysian plant.<\/p>",
