        "content": "<p>Defense lawyers boycott trial<\/p>\n<p>KARACHI, Pakistan (AP): An antiterrorist court gave deposed<br>\nprime minister Nawaz Sharif one day to contact his defense team,<br>\nall of whom boycotted the trial on Monday to press their demand<br>\nthat the case be moved out of southern Karachi, where their<br>\ncolleague was slain last week.<\/p>\n<p>Judge Rehmetullah Hussein Jaffri adjourned the hearing until<br>\nTuesday after Sharif told the court he had not spoken to his<br>\nlawyers and only read of their decision to boycott his trial in<br>\nthe newspapers.<\/p>\n<p>\"I ready about the decision of my lawyers not to come to court<br>\nin the newspapers,\" Sharif told the court. \"I haven't had any<br>\ncontact with them and their decision has not been taken with my<br>\nknowledge. We should be provided the facilities to contact our<br>\nlawyers and find out what is in their minds.\"<\/p>\n<p>The judge agreed and ordered the prosecution to let Sharif<br>\ntelephone his lawyers, most of whom live in the eastern Punjab<br>\ncapital of Lahore.<\/p>",
