Defendant attacks judge with egg<\/p>\n
BANDUNG, West Java (JP): A man charged with insulting
\nPresident Soeharto whipped up a frenzy in the courtroom yesterday
\nwhen he hurled an egg at the judge's face and then snatched his
\ngavel.<\/p>\n
While Judge Achmadi was reading reports of the evidence
\ngathered against the defendant Coky Yahya Runasia Aritonang, Coky
\ngot up and pelted the judge with an egg that he had concealed
\nunder his shirt.<\/p>\n
When the startled judge covered his grimacing face with his
\nhands, the well-built, 31-year-old man snatched the gavel and
\nthrew it down angrily.<\/p>\n
With tension boiling over, the two other judges, Sudijono and
\nSimanjuntak, scrambled out of the courtroom after snatching the
\nwooden name plates from their table, fearing that Coky might use
\nthem to assault Achmadi.<\/p>\n
Coky, who also screamed obscenities at the judges, was finally
\noverpowered by police officers called in by the judges, who then
\nadjourned the session.<\/p>\n
\"Lies, lies, lies... all the charges are lies. This is a
\nframe-up,\" Coky yelled, simmering with rage. He kicked the
\ncourtroom doors as the officers dragged him to a prison van
\nwaiting outside.<\/p>\n
Yesterday marked the 14th session since his trial began in
\nFebruary. Coky is being tried for distributing leaflets in
