Defendant admits to drug charges<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): Ng Wie Hon, alias Awi, 51, pleaded guilty to
\nselling Ecstasy pills at the West Jakarta District Court
\nyesterday.<\/p>\n
Awi, who has refused his right to legal representation,
\nconfirmed the prosecutor's charges and the testimonies of the two
\nwitnesses at the hearing presided by Enny M Sinaga.<\/p>\n
Awi faces a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison.<\/p>\n
The first witness, Djati Uarana Saragih, 38, a national police
\ndetective, told the court that he apprehended Awi on Dec. 22,
\n1995 at the Zodiac Discotheque in Glodok Plaza.<\/p>\n
Djati said he had found 84 Ecstasy pills in Awi's car.<\/p>\n
He said that an alleged buyer, Kwan Juh Hok, alias Ahok, 30,
\nwhom he arrested on the same date, told him that Awi was selling
\nthe drugs.<\/p>\n
Ahok, the second witness, was tried separately yesterday by
\nthe same judges.<\/p>\n
\"Awi said he was supplied with Ecstasy pills from a man called
\nHenky, whom we are yet to identify,\" Djati said.<\/p>\n
