        "content": "<p>The Ministry of Defence (Kemhan) is conducting a thorough evaluation\nof the basic military training (latsarmil) programme after two\nparticipants of the Sarjana Penggerak Pembangunan Indonesia (SPPI)\nprogramme died during the course. \u2018Kemhan, together with the National\nSelection Committee and the education providers, is currently carrying\nout a comprehensive evaluation of all aspects of the programme\u2019s\nimplementation,\u2019 said Brigadier General TNI Rico Ricardo Sirait, Head of\nthe Defence Information Bureau at the Kemhan Secretariat General, in a\nstatement received in Jakarta on Tuesday. According to Rico, the\nevaluation aims to identify various aspects needing improvement to\nenhance the safety and quality of the latsarmil education. \u2018We will\nevaluate the health selection mechanism, medical supervision, the\nhandling of participants with specific health conditions, and the\ncommunication and reporting system,\u2019 he said. He emphasised that Kemhan\nis open to various inputs and criticisms to achieve a better\nimplementation of the latsarmil. \u2018Every input, evaluation, and lesson\nlearned from the activity\u2019s implementation will serve as the basis for\nrefining the programme going forward, so it runs better, safer, more\nprofessionally, and accountably,\u2019 Rico stated. The two deceased SPPI\nprogramme participants were being prepared to become managers of the\nKoperasi Desa\/Kelurahan Merah Putih (KDKMP) and Kampung Nelayan Merah\nPutih (KNMP). They were named as Anisa Muyassaroh and Yonanda Muhammad\nTaufiq. Rico explained that Anisa Muyassaroh died from heat stroke while\nattending training at the Dodikjur Rindam VI\/Mulawarman Education Unit\nin Balikpapan. Meanwhile, Yonanda Muhammad Taufiq died while attending\ntraining at the Pusat Latihan Tempur (Puslatpur) Kodiklatad Education\nUnit in Baturaja. According to Rico, Yonanda experienced a decline in\nhis physical condition on 17 June 2026 and was subsequently referred to\na hospital for medical treatment. \u2018Based on medical information, the\nindividual was declared dead due to cardiac arrest,\u2019 he said.<\/p>",
