        "content": "<p>The Governor of West Java, Dedi Mulyadi, has set a target to provide\ninsurance for 5.4 million heads of households working in the informal\nsector across West Java.<\/p>\n<p>He stated that informal workers in the region include farmers,\nfishermen, construction labourers, drivers, online motorcycle taxi\ndrivers, traditional motorcycle taxi drivers, street vendors, domestic\nworkers, and porters. The insurance premiums for these workers will be\npaid by the West Java Provincial Government and the regency\/city\ngovernments throughout the province.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBy 2027, we target 5.4 million heads of households in the informal\nsector to receive employment insurance coverage,\u201d said Dedi Mulyadi in a\nvideo posted to his Instagram account, <span class=\"citation\" data-cites=\"dedimulyadi71\">@dedimulyadi71<\/span>, as reported on Monday\n(21\/9).<\/p>\n<p>Dedi noted that in the current year of 2026, the West Java Provincial\nGovernment and all regency\/city governments across the province have\nalready insured 1 million informal workers.<\/p>\n<p>He explained that these informal workers will receive benefits in the\nform of free medical treatment costs, which are covered by the\nemployment insurance.<\/p>\n<p>He cited an existing example in Bekasi, where a beneficiary received\na payment of up to Rp500 million.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, beneficiaries will receive protection in the event of\nwork-related accidents, ensuring their medical treatments are\nguaranteed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn the event of death due to a work-related accident, the family\nwill receive a compensation of Rp72 million, plus insurance for\neducational guarantees ranging from kindergarten to university for two\nchildren,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, families will receive compensation of up to Rp42\nmillion in the event of death caused by illness.<\/p>\n<p>He stated that the total number of protected family members is\nexpected to reach 17 million.<\/p>\n<p>Dedi also mentioned that to access this insurance membership, heads\nof households will utilise the \u2018Asuransi Aing\u2019 application.<\/p>",
