Jakarta (ANTARA) - Member of DPR RI Commission II, Deddy Sitorus,\nstated that the DPR can only office in the Nusantara Capital (IKN) if\nits executive branch partners, in this case the relevant ministries and\nagencies, also office there.<\/p>\n
Deddy said this when contacted by reporters from Jakarta on Friday,\nresponding to Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka\u2019s invitation for DPR\nmembers to jointly office in the new political capital.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf the DPR must office there, why not? The issue is that the DPR\nworks collectively in commissions and AKD (council apparatus) along with\nits executive partners. The DPR can only perform its functions there if\nits partners are also present,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
He gave an example that if Commission II offices in IKN, the Ministry\nof Home Affairs, Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial\nPlanning\/National Land Agency, KPU, Bawaslu, and Ministry of State\nApparatus Utilisation and Bureaucratic Reform must also office\nthere.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf not, what is there to do?\u201d Deddy said.<\/p>\n
He stated that so far, infrastructure for the legislative and\njudicial branches in IKN is not yet complete, but executive office\nbuildings are finished. Therefore, he suggested that Vice President\nGibran first invite the relevant ministries and agencies.<\/p>\n
\u201cGoing there is for work, not for seclusion,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
He also emphasised that his suggestion is serious. \u201cThe executive\nbuildings that have been constructed must be utilised so as not to fall\ninto the category of waste,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
Previously, Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka appreciated input\nfrom DPR members to office in IKN. He also invited executive, judicial,\nand legislative elements to office there.<\/p>\n
\u201cThank you for the input from the Honourable Council Member Mr Deddy\nSitorus. Later, we will all office in IKN together,\u201d said Vice President\nGibran in an official written statement received in Jakarta on Thursday\n(9\/4).<\/p>\n
\u201cBecause IKN has been designated as the political capital in 2028.\nThus, state administration from the executive, judicial, and legislative\nsides must be fulfilled,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, in a meeting with the Head of the IKN Authority (OIKN)\nBasuki Hadimuljono on Monday (30\/3), DPR RI Commission II Member Deddy\nSitorus mentioned the discourse of Vice President Gibran to office in\nIKN.<\/p>\n
That statement was made by Deddy while emphasising the importance of\nutilising the buildings that have been constructed in IKN. He asked OIKN\nHead Basuki to discuss this with President Prabowo Subianto.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, OIKN Head Basuki Hadimuljono stated that Vice President\nGibran can office in IKN starting this year because the buildings and\nsupporting facilities are complete.<\/p>\n
