The number of Hajj pilgrims from West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) who passed\naway during the 1447 Hijriah pilgrimage has risen to 11. All deceased\npilgrims were buried in Saudi Arabia.<\/p>\n
The Regional Head of the NTB Ministry of Religious Affairs, Lalu\nMuhamad Amin, revealed that three of the 11 deceased pilgrims were from\nEast Lombok Regency. \u201cIn East Lombok Regency, there are three pilgrims\nwho passed away in the Holy Land, namely Hajjah Isniwat Isyum, Harun Al\nRashid, and Hajjah Mainah Subuh,\u201d Amin stated on Monday (8\/6\/2026).<\/p>\n
Amin noted that the NTB Regional Office of the Ministry of Religious\nAffairs is currently scheduling condolence visits to the homes of the\ndeceased. After completing visits to the families of pilgrims from\nCentral Lombok, the office will proceed to East Lombok Regency. Amin\nadded that these visits will be conducted alongside the ongoing process\nof returning and welcoming pilgrims back to their home regions.<\/p>\n
Distribution of Deceased NTB Pilgrims<\/p>\n
In addition to those from Lombok Island, five pilgrims who passed\naway originated from Sumbawa Island. Specifically, three pilgrims were\nfrom Bima Regency and two were from Sumbawa Regency. \u201cThe Heads of the\nMinistry of Religious Affairs offices for Bima and Sumbawa Regencies\nhave conducted direct visits to the bereaved families,\u201d Amin\nexplained.<\/p>\n
Overall, the 11 deceased pilgrims from NTB include three from Central\nLombok, three from East Lombok, three from Bima Regency, and two from\nSumbawa Regency.<\/p>\n
Predominantly Elderly with Pre-existing Conditions<\/p>\n
Previously, the Head of the Mataram Health Quarantine Office, Herman\nNugraha, revealed that the majority of the deceased pilgrims were\nelderly. Pre-existing medical conditions and physical exhaustion\nfollowing the peak of the Armuzna (Arafah, Muzdalifah, and Mina) rituals\nwere identified as the primary causes of death. \u201cMost were elderly, with\nsome suffering from heart and lung diseases that were present since\ndeparture. Physical exhaustion and fatigue significantly impacted their\nhealth,\u201d Herman said on Wednesday (3\/6).<\/p>\n
In addition to those who passed away, Herman mentioned that 12\npilgrims from NTB are still undergoing medical treatment in Saudi\nArabian hospitals. For pilgrims unable to return with their original\nflight group, their return will be arranged with the next group once\ntheir health improves or they are declared fit. Herman also urged\npilgrims who have arrived in Indonesia to maintain their health and seek\nmedical attention immediately if they experience any symptoms. \u201cFor\npilgrims who have arrived home, if you feel slightly unwell, take\nmedication.
