Dead couple's car found in Cilegon<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): A missing red Peugeot sedan thought to belong to
\na couple found dead in the Modernland housing complex in
\nTangerang was discovered by a tire repair man on Jl. Raya Merak
\nin Cilegon last Tuesday.<\/p>\n
Cilegon police chief Lt. Col. Indra said yesterday that the
\ncar was found on Tuesday morning, three days before the bodies of
\nbusinessman Hendra Rusmawan, 47, and his wife Prastiwi, 42, were
\nfound at their home.<\/p>\n
Indra said that the car had been left at the roadside about 90
\nkilometers from Tangerang and four kilometers from Merak port,
\nwhich the main Java-Sumatra ferry service operates out of.<\/p>\n
The ignition key and vehicle documents were found inside the
\ncar.<\/p>\n
Based on preliminary findings, Cilegon and Tangerang
\ndetectives strongly believed that suspects in the murder used the
\ncar and are now hiding somewhere in Sumatra.<\/p>\n
The bodies of Bambang and his wife were found with their hands
\nbound in the bedroom of their home Friday, after the couple's
\ndriver, Supadi, and concerned neighbors broke into the house.<\/p>\n
The couple are believed to have died several days earlier.<\/p>\n
\"It is likely that the couple were murdered at dawn of the
\nsame day that the car was found,\" Indra was quoted by Antara as
\nsaying.<\/p>\n
A Modernland security officer admitted that he saw a red sedan
\nliving the housing complex at dawn on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
\"No scratches were found on the car body. That means the
\ndriver was fully skilled in driving such a car,\" Indra said.<\/p>\n
Tangerang police have so far questioned five people in
\nrelation to the murder.<\/p>\n
The five are identified only as Su and N, drivers for the dead
\ncouple, W and A, security guards at the Modernland housing
\ncomplex and S (23), a relative of the couple.<\/p>\n
Tangerang Police chief Lt. Col. Aryanto Boedihardjo said that
\nnone of them had been named as suspects. \"The investigation is
\nstill going on,\" he said.<\/p>\n
Police have collected sandals, rubber hosing and a crowbar
\nfound in the victim's bedroom as evidence in the case. They are
\nalso awaiting the results of forensic tests to see if the female
\nvictim had been raped.<\/p>\n
Aryanto refused to give more details about the case. \"Please
\nbe patient. We're still investigating the case\", he said.<\/p>\n
The couple were buried at Sewan Public Cemetery in Karang
\nSari, Tangerang on Saturday. (edt)<\/p>",
