Daytime shooting jolts Denpasar<\/p>\n
DENPASAR, Bali: A daytime shooting shook the crowded Sudirman
\nAgung downtown business center on Monday, but no fatalities were
\nreported in the incident.<\/p>\n
The bullet, believed to have been fired from an FN-46 pistol
\nusing a silencer, struck a shop window.<\/p>\n
Police quickly secured the three-story building belonging to
\nhousehold equipment supplier PT Karya Insan Mulia Sejahtera. No
\narrests have been made.<\/p>\n
No gunfire was heard, and people only became aware after a
\nconstruction worker discovered the bullet lodged in a board on
\nthe ground floor. The board was located 10 meters from the shop's
\nwindow.<\/p>\n
The workers said they heard the window cracking but thought it
\nwas caused by improper installation.<\/p>\n
Marlialim, PT Karya's supervisor, told The Jakarta Post one of
\nthe construction workers, Purwoto, 48, could have been killed if
\nhe had been standing on the eastern side of the room, where the
\nboard is located.<\/p>\n
\"Nobody knows why the workers decided to move to the western
\nside just before the shooting,\" Marlialim said.<\/p>\n
A preliminary investigation shows the bullet was fired from
\nclose range, said Capt. Wayan Surpa Winaya of the Sabhara riot
