Daylight savings and productivity<\/p>\n
Indeed every Indonesian must be proud of their newly elected
\npresident. I am a Malaysian and have been working in Indonesia
\nfor the last five years. I feel that it is high time that the
\nPresident focus on punctuality and discipline.<\/p>\n
Permit me to add a point whereby productivity will be improved
\nand would go a long way toward improving the well-being of
\nIndonesians. There is a need to do a rethink on Indonesian time
\nzones, and I suggest that the current West Indonesia Time (WIB),
\nCentral Indonesia Time (WITA) and East Indonesia Time (WIT) be
\nbrought forward by one hour each.<\/p>\n
This will have a positive effect on school children and office
\nstaff, so that they may reach home during daylight. It will
\nfacilitate and promote good family relationships as well as
\nsporting activities.<\/p>\n
Central Kalimantan should follow South Kalimantan due to its
\nproximity. The sun rises in Central Kalimantan at around 5:30
\na.m. and sets at 5:45 p.m.<\/p>\n
Certainly advancing the time by an hour would bring positive
\nchanges to the people and improve the business environment. Even
\nelectricity can be conserved.<\/p>\n
We hope President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono has this in his
\nplanning.<\/p>\n
