        "content": "<p>Dayaks want governor out<\/p>\n<p>PALANGKA RAYA, Central Kalimantan: Dayak tribal leaders said<br>\non Wednesday they wanted outgoing Central Kalimantan Governor<br>\nWarsito Rasman to leave the province as soon as possible, saying<br>\nhis five-year term was more than enough and his presence was no<br>\nlonger needed in the province.<\/p>\n<p>Dayak Traditional Council chairman Walman Narang told the<br>\nprovincial legislative council that Warsito&apos;s term expired in<br>\nJuly and he should leave the province as soon as possible.<\/p>\n<p>Walman said the Dayak people rejected last week&apos;s decision by<br>\nthe Ministry of Home Affairs extending Warsito&apos;s term until the<br>\nelection of a new governor.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;Please do not add to the people&apos;s suffering; we have been<br>\nfooled by Warsito for five years,&quot; Antara quoted Walman as<br>\nsaying.<\/p>\n<p>Warsito, who was then a senior official at the Ministry of<br>\nHome Affairs, won a controversial election to become governor of<br>\nthe province in 1994.<\/p>\n<p>The election was initially won by then North Barito regent<br>\nApuk Nihin, a native Dayak.
