I thank you for your coverage on my speech at a book launch at
\nIbis Hotel in The Jakarta Post (Saturday, April 13, 1996) under
\nthe heading Dayaks query govt development plan. However, your
\nreporter made an uncompromisable error in quoting my opinion. In
\nthe sixth paragraph, for example, your reporter quoted me as
\nsaying, \"One consequence of the poorly coordinated development
\nprogram, ...the Dayak's practice of burning down forest without
\nrealizing the environmental damage they were causing\" is just the
\nopposite of what I said.<\/p>\n
Secondly, the second paragraph from bottom says that I accuse
\ngovernment officials is your reporter's personal interpretation
\nof my point on the process of the demolition of the longhouse in
\nWest Kalimantan.<\/p>\n
