        "content": "<p>Jakarta (ANTARA) - Pondok Pesantren Darunnajah has once again held\nthe 50th Sports, Arts, and Scouting Week (Porseka) at the Darunnajah\nIslamic Boarding School Green Field, Pesanggrahan, South Jakarta, to\nstrengthen the spirit of new students during their orientation\nperiod.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis momentum is being used to introduce the life and traditions of\nthe pesantren to new students, while simultaneously renewing intentions\n(tajdid niat) for both returning students and educators,\u201d stated the\nLeader of Darunnajah Islamic Boarding School, Sofwan Manaf, in Jakarta\non Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>Sofwan added that education is not limited to the classroom but can\nbe gained from everything experienced within the boarding school. He\nnoted that all dynamics within the pesantren contain educational values\nthat shape the students\u2019 personalities.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhat you see, hear, feel, do, and experience every day\u2014all of that\nis education. Do not only pay attention to what is taught to you; also\npay attention to what is practised as a habit for you,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Sofwan also explained the \u2018Panca Jiwa\u2019 (Five Souls)\u2014the souls of\nsincerity, simplicity, independence, Islamic brotherhood, and\nfreedom\u2014which are tangibly reflected as a \u2018hidden curriculum\u2019 in the\npreparation and execution of Porseka.<\/p>\n<p>He explained that the 50th Porseka commenced with an annual assembly\nfeaturing the raising of the national flag, formation reports, and a\nleadership address. Following the assembly, the event continued with an\nawards ceremony and various student performances, including Tapak Suci\nmartial arts, which conveys messages of agility and character, as well\nas configuration performances combining creativity and teamwork.<\/p>\n<p>In the context of the competitions, the school leader reminded\nparticipants that the competitive spirit should not erode core values\nand worship. He emphasised that while winning is an achievement,\nsportsmanship is a value. Discipline, cooperation, accepting defeat\ngracefully, and rising again after failure are all integral parts of the\nprocess.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDo not let us win a match but lose our brotherhood. Do not let us\nbring home a trophy but lose our character (akhlak),\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>According to Sofwan, this activity began 50 years ago as a Sports and\nArts Week (Porseni) and has since evolved to include scouting elements,\nbecoming Porseka. He urged all students to hold firmly to the identity\nof the pesantren wherever they may be.<\/p>",
