This initiative comes as Indonesia
targets achieving Net Zero Emission (NZE) by 2060 or sooner.

Danantara CEO Rosan Roeslani stated that renewable energy projects
need to be developed, given Indonesia’s abundant resources and
potential. “The investments we are making are continuous and
sustainable. Because our potential is enormous,” said Rosan Roeslani at
the DBS Asian Insights Conference at Hotel Mulia, Jakarta, on Wednesday
(21/5/2025).

“So, investment in clean energy, renewable energy, is also one of the
priorities we wish to pursue,” he affirmed.

According to records from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral
Resources (ESDM), Indonesia’s renewable energy potential amounts to 3.6
terawatts (TW). Renewable energy sources in Indonesia include solar,
wind, hydro, air, geothermal, and biofuels.

However, utilisation of renewable energy remains very low. Of the
total potential available, utilisation is reportedly still around 1%.
Moreover, the renewable energy mix in the national energy supply was
still approximately 14% by the end of 2024.

The government is therefore formulating a number of strategies to
increase renewable energy utilisation and its share in the energy mix.
Meanwhile, Danantara will focus on attracting investment and realising
projects related to green energy.

“And our investment potential in renewable energy is currently
greatest in solar. Then there is hydro, bioenergy, and wind. Geothermal
is also very interesting,” he concluded.
",
