Jakarta (ANTARA) \u2013 Dony Oskaria, Chief Operating Officer of\nIndonesia\u2019s Daya Anagata Nusantara Investment Management Agency\n(Danantara), said changes to the management of state-owned enterprises\n(SOEs) had helped raise their combined net profit by 18.4% to Rp214.9\ntrillion in January\u2013August 2026.<\/p>\n
Dony, who also heads the SOE Regulatory Agency (BP BUMN), presented\nthe figures at the Danantara Technology Innovation Investment Forum\n(DTIIF) 2026 in Jakarta on Monday.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe transformation we have carried out has produced results,\u201d Dony\nsaid during a C-suite session at the forum.<\/p>\n
Data presented by Danantara showed combined SOE net profit rising\nfrom Rp181.5 trillion in January\u2013August 2025 to Rp214.9 trillion over\nthe same period this year, an annual increase of Rp33.4 trillion.<\/p>\n
Profit growth was accompanied by an improvement in annualised return\non equity (ROE), which reached 8.0% in the first eight months of 2026,\nup from 7.4% in the corresponding period a year earlier. Combined SOE\nROE therefore rose by 0.6 percentage points, reflecting improved returns\non shareholders\u2019 capital.<\/p>\n
Dony said the transformation involved reviewing business models,\nrevenue sources and composition, cost structures and company\nprofitability, with reference to global industry best practice.<\/p>\n
PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG) was among the SOEs recording\nthe strongest profit growth, with net profit up 427% year on year in\nJanuary\u2013August 2026. \u201cYou can see that Semen Indonesia recorded a 427%\nincrease in profit,\u201d Dony said.<\/p>\n
Danantara\u2019s presentation also showed profits rising by 233% at Pupuk\nIndonesia, 110% at Danareksa and 55% at PTPN III compared with the same\nperiod a year earlier.<\/p>\n
Other SOEs also reported higher profits: Pertamina rose 48%, Pelindo\n45%, Bank Tabungan Negara (BTN) 35% and Bank Mandiri 16% year on\nyear.<\/p>\n
Dony linked the improved results to the gradual overhaul of business\nmodels and corporate management, including stronger financial discipline\nand governance. \u201cOur companies are now being managed with good\ngovernance,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
He said stronger SOE performance was important to Danantara\u2019s\nsustainability because its investment funding relies on dividends\ngenerated by state-owned companies.<\/p>\n
Improving SOE profitability is therefore central to strengthening\nDanantara\u2019s capacity to finance investment in strategic sectors, which\nis expected to increase incomes and create jobs in Indonesia.<\/p>\n
On 8 October 2026, Dony said Danantara was improving SOE governance,\nincluding by establishing an investment committee to ensure each\ninvestment was aligned with the company\u2019s purpose and business plan.<\/p>\n
Finance Minister Suahasil Nazara has said Danantara\u2019s dividends were\nnot included as state budget revenue for 2026 or 2027. He said\nDanantara\u2019s contribution could also be measured by its ability to create\njobs, increase production and attract private investment.<\/p>\n
