Danantara
has conducted the groundbreaking for the construction of a
waste-to-energy processing facility (PSEL) in Denpasar City, Bali.
Quoted from Metro TV’s Metro Hari Ini programme on Wednesday, 8 July
2026, Danantara commenced the construction of the PSEL in Bali and
confirmed that the technology being used is proven. Minister of
Investment and Downstreaming, Head of BKPM and CEO of Danantara, Rosan
Roeslani, explained that the Bali PSEL project is Danantara’s first PSEL
project, valued at Rp3 trillion. The project is targeted for completion
by October 2027 and is expected to be operational by December 2027.
Rosan explained that the construction of this PSEL has undergone a
lengthy and transparent process. Before appointing a partner, Danantara
conducted a comparative study to countries that have already implemented
the PSEL technology. Rosan noted that the technology is already in use
in 50 countries. ‘We carried out an open tender process, with
accountability, transparency, good corporate governance, and proven
technology. Because this technology is used in 50 countries. So it is
proven. And I have seen firsthand in several countries, the waste
processing is truly odourless, very clean, and has even become a
recreational area,’ said Rosan.
",
