The Danantara Investment Management Agency (Danantara Indonesia) has\nemphasised its commitment to ensuring that PT Danantara Sumberdaya\nIndonesia (DSI) executes its mandate to strengthen the governance of\nstrategic natural resource commodity exports in a measurable,\nprofessional, and accountable manner.<\/p>\n
Danantara understands that the success of DSI\u2019s mandate will depend\non business certainty, ensuring that existing signed contracts can\ncontinue to operate, provided that no under-invoicing occurs.\n\u201cMaintaining the trust of international trading partners and investors\nis a priority, and all of DSI\u2019s steps are designed to strengthen that\ntrust,\u201d stated Danantara Indonesia Management in an official statement\nin Jakarta on Friday.<\/p>\n
The government has established a transition period beginning on 1\nJune 2026, which will be evaluated periodically in accordance with\napplicable regulations. During this phase, Danantara noted that DSI\u2019s\nprimary focus is to strengthen reporting and monitoring systems through\ndigitalisation.<\/p>\n
Currently, DSI is developing a digital platform to analyse export\ntransaction data for strategic natural resources, allowing indications\nof under-invoicing to be identified objectively and based on data. \u201cThis\napproach allows DSI to focus attention on transactions requiring\nevaluation, while the majority of legitimate transactions can proceed\nsmoothly,\u201d said Danantara Indonesia Management.<\/p>\n
DSI is fully committed to maintaining the confidentiality of all\ncommercial information and contractual terms obtained. Existing\ncontracts may continue as long as under-invoicing is not detected.\nConsequently, businesses that have implemented good export practices\nwill not face obstacles, thereby creating legal certainty and a\nconducive business climate.<\/p>\n
Post-transition, DSI will prioritise its role as an intermediary,\nfacilitating and supervising export distribution, allowing commercial\nrelationships between producers and trading partners to remain intact.\nDSI believes that starting with this role is essential to prevent\ndisruptions to the export process of strategic natural resources, while\nachieving the primary goal of fair, transparent trade free from\nunder-invoicing practices.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe execution of this role will be evaluated periodically and\nmeasurably, considering ecosystem readiness and the achievement of the\nintended objectives,\u201d said Danantara Indonesia Management.<\/p>\n
Prices for strategic natural resource commodities will be set fairly,\nreferring to a fair, transparent, and accountable methodology for each\ncommodity. The aim is to prevent under-invoicing and ensure that\nrecorded export values reflect actual transactions. This methodology\nwill consider reasonable adjustments for differences in quality,\nspecification, logistics costs, and contract structures, ensuring price\nfairness is assessed in a holistic context to close loopholes for\nmanipulation without homogenising commercially distinct\ntransactions.<\/p>\n
