        "content": "<p>CEO of the Investment Management Agency Daya Anagata Nusantara\n(Danantara) and Minister of Investment and Downstreaming Rosan Roeslani\nstated that the establishment of the Indonesia Financial Centre (IFC),\ncurrently under government review, will be managed by its own authority\nbody.<\/p>\n<p>Rosan said that the existence of such an authority is necessary to\nspecifically manage the financial centre area.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYes, there will be its own authority body,\u201d Rosan said after a\nmeeting at the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs in Jakarta on\nTuesday.<\/p>\n<p>He explained that the formation of the IFC is still in the early\ndiscussion stage and will be further addressed through cross-ministerial\nand agency coordination.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, the government is preparing various supporting\naspects, from regulations and legal frameworks to incentives to attract\nglobal financial industry players.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will soon be called by the President to discuss the establishment\nof the Indonesia Financial Centre, where we plan to look at potential\nlocations in Bali,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>He added that the government will also identify several needs that\nmust be followed up by each relevant stakeholder.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will also compare it with financial centres in Dubai, Abu Dhabi,\nSingapore, and others,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>He assessed that this step is important to ensure the competitiveness\nof Indonesia\u2019s financial centre on a global level.<\/p>\n<p>Rosan also mentioned that Danantara has the potential to play a role\nas one of the initiators in overseeing the development of the financial\ncentre area.<\/p>\n<p>Previously, the government has also been refining regulations for the\nestablishment of a special economic zone (SEZ) in the financial sector\nin Bali as a foundation for developing an international financial\ncentre.<\/p>\n<p>This development is directed, among others, in the Kura-Kura Bali SEZ\narea, which is being prepared to support the global financial centre\necosystem.<\/p>\n<p>By the first quarter of 2026, the SEZ area in Bali has recorded\nrealised investments of Rp5.37 trillion with the absorption of thousands\nof workers, demonstrating the potential for developing high-value\ninvestment-based sectors.<\/p>",
