        "content": "<p>Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Danantara, Rosan Roeslani, projects\nthat the entire series of national downstream projects will create new\nemployment opportunities for around 600,000 people in Indonesia.<\/p>\n<p>Rosan conveyed this during his report on the 13 second-phase\ndownstream projects, which were symbolically initiated by President\nPrabowo Subianto in Cilacap, Central Java.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf we look at the projects we are implementing, they will create\nemployment opportunities reaching approximately 600,000 people,\u201d said\nRosan, quoted from a video broadcast by the Presidential Secretariat,\nWednesday, 29 April 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Rosan, who also serves as Minister of Investment and\nDownstreaming\/Head of BKPM, explained that the job creation is part of\nthe government\u2019s efforts to optimise the added value of state assets\nthrough massive industrial development.<\/p>\n<p>The construction process in this second phase is being carried out\nsimultaneously at 13 strategic project sites, following the successful\ncompletion of the first phase in early February at 11 different\nlocations.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the second-phase downstream projects include the construction\nof gasoline refinery facilities in Cilacap and Dumai, and coal\nprocessing facilities into Dimethyl Ether or DME in Tanjung Enim.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, the construction of stainless steel manufacturing,\nnickel manufacturing, carbon steel slab, copper and gold downstreaming,\niron ore, and asphalt production. In the agricultural sector, the\ndevelopment of palm oil processing into oleofood products as well as\nbiodiesel, and downstreaming of coconut and nutmeg products.<\/p>\n<p>The first-phase downstream projects include the alumina smelter in\nWest Kalimantan, bioavtur in Central Java, bioethanol, and industrial\nsalt processing in East Java. Additionally, some constructions from\nintegrated chicken farming in various locations across Indonesia.<\/p>\n<p>Rosan emphasised that Danantara is not just a state asset manager,\nbut also functions as a catalyst for national economic\ntransformation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBecause our mandate is to create added value, optimise assets,\ncreate efficiency, and of course, as a state investment to provide the\ngreatest possible benefits for the Indonesian people,\u201d he stated.<\/p>",
