        "content": "<p>Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia \u2014 Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of\nRepresentatives Sufmi Dasco Ahmad revealed that the government, through\nDanantara, has now entered as a shareholder in an online transportation\napplication (ride-hailing\/ojol) company.<\/p>\n<p>According to Dasco, this step serves as an entry point for the\ngovernment to help drive improvements in the industry ecosystem,\nincluding ensuring policies that are more favourable to drivers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe government through Danantara has entered the applicator, taking\na share of the stock. With that position, there is certainly room to\npush for better policies,\u201d he said during a meeting with Labour Day\nrally participants at the DPR Building on Friday (1\/5\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>In line with this, the DPR together with the government is also\ndiscussing adjustments to the revenue-sharing scheme between the\napplicator and drivers. One key point that has emerged is the plan to\nreduce the cut taken by the applicator.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBecause this concerns the overall system, the initial step being\ndiscussed is how to lower the portion taken by the applicator. From\npreviously 10% to 20%, it is directed to become around 8%,\u201d he\nexplained.<\/p>\n<p>Nevertheless, he emphasised that the scheme is still in the\nsimulation and further study stage, taking into account business\nsustainability as well as the welfare of driver partners.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, discussions regarding the employment status of\nride-hailing drivers are still ongoing. To date, there has been no final\ndecision on whether drivers will be categorised as formal workers or\nremain as partners.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhether they will become workers or remain partners, that is still\nbeing simulated,\u201d said Dasco.<\/p>\n<p>He affirmed that in the policy formulation process, the government\nwill continue to involve organisations and communities of ride-hailing\ndrivers so that the decisions taken are not unilateral.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe organisations of our ride-hailing friends will be invited to\ndiscuss and deliberate, so that the policies produced truly match the\nconditions on the ground,\u201d he concluded.<\/p>\n<p>Previously, President Prabowo Subianto had signed Presidential\nRegulation No.\u00a027 of 2026 on the Protection of Online Transport Workers.\nOne important point in the regulation is the income distribution between\nthe applicator and drivers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have signed Presidential Regulation No.\u00a027 on the Protection of\nOnline Transport Workers.
