Damansara-Sakato property<\/p>\n
KUALA LUMPUR (Reuter): Malaysian property developer Damansara
\nRealty Bhd said yesterday it had entered into a joint venture
\nagreement with Indonesia's P.T. Andalas Tuah Sakato for a quarry
\nin Indonesia.<\/p>\n
"The joint venture company will focus on quarrying and
\nextraction of marble and other dimension stones for sale," said
\nDamansara Realty in a statement issued to the Kuala Lumpur Stock
\nExchange.<\/p>\n
Damansara Realty said the joint venture company would be 80-
\npercent owned by Damansara's wholly-owned subsidiary Valiant
\nDirection Sdn Bhd and 20 percent-owned by P.T. Andalas.<\/p>\n
The Indonesian company is a holding company of a West Sumatera
\nProvincial Government-owned enterprise, said Damansara.<\/p>\n
Initially, the joint venture would sell marble to the
\nIndonesian market, "which recorded a tremendous growth in the
\nconstruction industry," said Damansara.<\/p>\n
The company said it eventually hoped to market its products in
\nthe United States, Singapore and Malaysia "as well as the rest of
\nthe developing Asian market".<\/p>",
