Banda Aceh (ANTARA) \u2014 Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah Dahnil Anzar\nSimanjuntak stated that the Garuda Indonesia aircraft placed at the Aceh\nHajj Embarkation Dormitory is a form of respect from President Prabowo\nfor the people of Aceh.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is a form of respect for the people of Aceh from President\nPrabowo. That is the most important note,\u201d he said in Banda Aceh on\nSunday.<\/p>\n
He made the remarks after inaugurating the Garuda Indonesia-donated\naircraft and a building at the Aceh Hajj Embarkation Dormitory in Banda\nAceh. The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, in cooperation with PT Garuda\nIndonesia, has placed a complete aircraft on the grounds of the Aceh\nHajj Embarkation Dormitory. The presence of the Boeing 737 belonging to\nPT Garuda Indonesia (a former Citilink aircraft) is an effort to\nfacilitate education and ritual training for prospective hajj and umrah\npilgrims from Aceh.<\/p>\n
He said the aircraft brought to the Aceh Hajj Dormitory is not a\nreplica but an actual complete aircraft fuselage, making it the first of\nits kind in Indonesia. \u201cNo hajj dormitory in Indonesia has had a\ncomplete aircraft like this\u2014what exists elsewhere are mockups\n(replicas). This is not a mockup. I actually requested a mockup, but\nwhat Garuda provided was a complete aircraft,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
He explained that historically, Indonesia\u2019s or Garuda\u2019s first\naircraft came from Aceh\u2014named the Seulawah, which was the result of\ndonations from the Acehnese people to Indonesia. \u201cThis is a symbol of\nthe central government\u2019s respect for the people of Aceh. The President\nwants to provide convenience for umrah and hajj pilgrims in Aceh,\u201d he\nsaid.<\/p>\n
Additionally, Dahnil explained the plan to build an Indonesian hajj\nvillage in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, noting that the concept also draws\nlessons from the Acehnese community. He explained that a figure known as\nHabib Bugak Al-Asyi once built a hajj village that continues to benefit\nthe Acehnese people to this day. Therefore, President Prabowo has begun\nbuilding a hajj village in Mecca by acquiring the Novotel hotel asset.\nThe process has been carried out gradually.<\/p>\n
