        "content": "<p>The Director of Investigation for the Junior Attorney General for\nSpecial Crimes at the Attorney General\u2019s Office, Syarief Sulaeman Nahdi,\nhas announced the designation of three former leaders of the National\nNutrition Agency (BGN) as suspects. The suspects are linked to alleged\ncorruption involving the mark-up of procurement projects for various\ngoods, including electric motorbikes, shoes, and tablets.<\/p>\n<p>The three former BGN officials are former Head of BGN, Dadan\nHindayana, and two former Deputy Heads, Sony Sonjaya and Lodewyk\nPusung.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe procurement included 21,801 units of electric motorbikes with a\ntotal value of approximately Rp1 trillion, the procurement of 32,000\npairs of shoes that did not comply with regulations and involved\nmark-ups, the procurement of over 31,000 tablets that were non-compliant\nand marked up, and the procurement of 5,400 units of 75-inch televisions\nthat were non-compliant and marked up,\u201d Syarief stated during a press\nconference at the Attorney General\u2019s Office building.<\/p>\n<p>The Attorney General\u2019s Office issued an investigation order\n(sprindik) regarding the governance of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG)\nprogramme at the BGN on 29 May. A few days later, the Attorney General\u2019s\nOffice conducted searches at several locations, including the BGN office\nin Jakarta, from Tuesday night to Wednesday morning.<\/p>\n<p>During the searches, the Attorney General\u2019s Office seized various\npieces of evidence. Authorities also brought Dadan, Lodewyk, and Sony in\nfor questioning. Following the examination process, all three were\nofficially named suspects and immediately detained. The suspects will be\nheld at the Salemba Detention Centre for the next 20 days.<\/p>\n<p>Syariief noted that the state has suffered losses due to the alleged\nmark-ups in these procurement projects. The suspects are alleged to have\nviolated Articles 603 and 604 in conjunction with Article 20 of Law\nNumber 1 of 2023 regarding the Criminal Code (KUHP).<\/p>",
