        "content": "<p>Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - The Directorate General of Customs at the\nMinistry of Finance, together with the Strategic Intelligence Agency\n(BAIS) of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), conducted a\nlarge-scale operation against a network manufacturing illegal excise\nstamps in Central Java. In simultaneous operations in Jepara and\nSemarang, the estimated potential losses prevented amounted to around\nRp570 billion.<\/p>\n<p>According to an official release from the Directorate General of\nCustoms, in Jepara Regency, the team raided five locations used as\nstorage and adhesion sites for holograms, spread across Mayong,\nBatealit, and Pecangaan districts.<\/p>\n<p>From these locations, officers seized 71 bundles of suspected fake\nexcise stamps, 3 bundles of suspected fake stamps not yet affixed with\nholograms, and 2 foil stamping machines.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, in Semarang city, the raids were conducted at three\nbuilding sites and boarding rooms in the Gunungpati district that served\nas a printing hub.<\/p>\n<p>The officers seized 2 printing machines (model OLIVER 66 EZ and\nOLIVER 258 E2Z), printing plates for the excise stamps, 1 paper cutting\nmachine, 22 rolls of hologram sticker paper, and 1 folder of orders for\nsuspected fake excise stamps.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to securing the evidence, authorities also detained\nparties involved for further investigation in accordance with applicable\nlaws and regulations.<\/p>\n<p>In Jepara, 15 people were detained who were applying holograms, while\nin Semarang four people were detained (1 printing controller, 2 workers,\nand 1 driver) along with 1 Innova Zenix vehicle. The seized goods and 19\nindividuals questioned have been taken to the Regional Office of Customs\nfor Central Java and the Special Region of Yogyakarta for further\nexamination.<\/p>\n<p>Djaka Budhi Utama, Director General of Customs, stated that based on\ncalculations of the total amount of fake excise stamps seized across the\ntwo areas, the enforcement operation successfully saved potential state\nlosses with an estimated value of Rp570 billion.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis enforcement action is a reflection of Customs\u2019 commitment to\nsafeguarding state revenue, creating a healthy business climate, and\nprotecting the public from illegal excise goods,\u201d Djaka said in an\nofficial release, quoted on Wednesday (20 May 2026).<\/p>\n<p>Djaka added that the success of supervision and enforcement is\ninseparable from inter-agency synergy and active public\nparticipation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe invite the public to continue to be Customs partners in\nmonitoring by reporting indications of illegal goods circulation in\ntheir surroundings via official complaints channels,\u201d he said.<\/p>",
