        "content": "<p>The Head of the West Kalimantan Regional Customs Office, accompanied\nby the Head of the Sintete Customs Office, attended the soft launch of\nthe reactivation of the Temajuk Cross-Border Post on Friday (21\/8\/2026).\nThe event was held at the Temajuk Cross-Border Post grounds, which are\ndirectly connected to the Telok Melano Border Control Post in Sarawak,\nMalaysia.<\/p>\n<p>The reactivation of this cross-border route is intended to open\naccess for the movement of goods and people, as well as to boost local\neconomic potential and tourism for communities in the Indonesia\u2013Malaysia\nborder area. The reopening follows the Indonesia\u2013Malaysia Border\nCrossing Agreement of 8 June 2023 and the outcomes of the 19th Session\nof the Joint Secretariat of the Malaysia\u2013Indonesia Social Economic\nWorking Group.<\/p>\n<p>The Secretary of Indonesia\u2019s National Border Management Agency,\nMakhruzi Rahman, said the launch answers the aspirations and hopes of\nborder communities regarding the lawful and sovereign reopening of the\nTemajuk\u2013Telok Melano access.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe launching and activation of the cross-border post we are holding\ntoday is the answer to the public\u2019s hopes, dreams and questions about\nwhen the Temajuk and Telok Melano border would be reopened. Opening a\nnational gate is part of respecting each country\u2019s sovereignty,\u201d\nMakhruzi said.<\/p>\n<p>The Head of the Sintete Customs Office, Achmad Hidayat, said Customs\u2019\npresence at the launch is in line with its firm commitment to carrying\nout its functions as a community protector and trade facilitator on the\nfront line of the Republic of Indonesia.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThrough this launch, we are ready to provide optimal customs\nservices and supervision at the Temajuk Cross-Border Post,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>This strategic step, resulting from synergy with the National Border\nManagement Agency, Immigration, Quarantine, the military and police, and\nlocal government, is expected to encourage legal and orderly local\neconomic growth and open wider space for interaction between the people\nof both countries, while also serving as a strong foundation towards\npreparations for a State Border Crossing Post in 2027.<\/p>",
