        "content": "<p>Customs destroys fake cigarettes<\/p>\n<p>TANGERANG: The Tanjung Priok Customs and Excise Office in<br>\nNorth Jakarta burned on Thursday 18.9 million cigarettes bearing<br>\nfake excise stickers at the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.<\/p>\n<p>Head of the office Frans Rupang said the fake cigarettes could<br>\nhave caused up to Rp 10 billion in losses to the state had they<br>\nbeen distributed.<\/p>\n<p>He said the office confiscated the cigarettes, which were<br>\nreportedly imported through Nan Hang seaport in the People's<br>\nRepublic of China.<\/p>\n<p>He revealed that the unlawful importers declared that the<br>\nproducts in the containers were electronic appliances.<\/p>\n<p>Minister of Justice and Human Rights Hamid Awaluddin, who also<br>\nwitnessed the burning of the cigarettes, said that he would ask<br>\nCoordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs<br>\nWidodo AS to seek clarification from the Embassy of China over<br>\nthe illegal imports. --JP.<\/p>",
