A joint operation by Entikong Customs, the Indonesia-Malaysia Border\nSecurity Task Force of the 1st Air Defence Artillery Battalion\/PBC\/1\nKostrad, the TNI Strategic Intelligence Agency, TNI SGI, and the West\nKalimantan Provincial National Narcotics Agency (BNN) has successfully\nthwarted the circulation of narcotics at the Indonesia-Malaysia border.\nThe combined team foiled the smuggling of 21,476.9 grams of\nmethamphetamine via an unofficial route on the right sector of the\nEntikong Cross-Border Post (PLBN) on Wednesday, 10 June 2026.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe operation was part of a joint patrol aimed at tightening\nsurveillance of the RI-Malaysia border area,\u201d said Rendi Apriyanto, Head\nof Internal Compliance and Outreach at Entikong Customs, in a statement\non Thursday, 18 June 2026.<\/p>\n
The case came to light when officers became suspicious of a vehicle\nthat had previously undergone inspection at the Entikong PLBN and was\nmoving towards an unofficial route near the post. The joint team then\ntook action against the vehicle between approximately 5.30 p.m. and 6.30\np.m. Western Indonesian Time in Entikong District, Sanggau Regency.<\/p>\n
Upon inspection, the vehicle was found to be driven by a man from\nJohor Bahru, Malaysia, with the initials MO. The team also discovered 20\ngreen tea packets containing white crystalline lumps with a gross weight\nof approximately 21,476.9 grams. The driver and all evidence were\nsubsequently taken to the Kotis Dalduk Post for further examination.<\/p>\n
Upon arrival at the Kotis Dalduk Post, Entikong Customs conducted a\nsample test using a Narcotest NIK device, which confirmed the white\ncrystals were methamphetamine, or sabu. Following the seizure, the\nevidence was counted and weighed before being secured for further legal\nproceedings. Meanwhile, the driver, MO, is suspected of violating Law\nNumber 35 of 2009 on Narcotics.<\/p>\n
Rendi disclosed that the suspect and all evidence were then\ntransported to the XII\/Tanjungpura Regional Military Command for further\ncoordination before being handed over to the West Kalimantan Provincial\nBNN. \u201cThis success demonstrates the strong synergy between agencies in\nsafeguarding the border area from the threat of transnational narcotics\ntrafficking.
