        "content": "<p>The customs and excise sector plays a strategic role in state\nrevenue. The sector\u2019s receipts recorded a positive turnaround as of\nApril 2026, with total revenue reaching Rp100.6 trillion, contributing\n29.9 percent to the state budget (APBN) and growing 0.6 percent\nyear-on-year.<\/p>\n<p>According to Customs and Excise data, import duty receipts were\nrecorded at Rp16.4 trillion, growing 6.4 percent year-on-year, driven by\nan increase in duties from LPG commodities and project needs. Meanwhile,\nexport duty receipts contracted by 17.5 percent year-on-year to Rp9.3\ntrillion. Despite the contraction, export duty receipts began to show\nimprovement in line with the strengthening of crude palm oil (CPO)\nprices in March and April 2026. Excise revenue grew 2.2 percent\nyear-on-year, amounting to Rp74.8 trillion, influenced by increased\ncigarette production in the first quarter.<\/p>\n<p>Head of the Public Relations and Counselling Sub-directorate of\nCustoms and Excise, Budi Prasetiyo, stated that this revenue and\nsupervisory performance was inseparable from the role of stakeholders\nand the public. \u201cWe thank all parties, especially the public, for their\nsupport in bolstering the state budget performance. This positive\nrevenue and supervisory performance reinforces Customs and Excise\u2019s\ncommitment to safeguarding revenue, protecting the public, and securing\nthe national economy,\u201d he said in an official release on Thursday\n(11\/6).<\/p>\n<p>He added that beyond its role as a revenue collector, Customs and\nExcise also successfully protected the national economy from illegal\ngoods and smuggling. Up to April 2026, Customs and Excise had conducted\n5,451 enforcement actions against illegal cigarettes, seizing 684\nmillion sticks. Additionally, 522 enforcement actions against narcotics\nwere carried out, resulting in the seizure of 3.31 tonnes of\nnarcotics.<\/p>",
