BEKASI — A curved road in the Grand Galaxy City area, South Bekasi,
City of Bekasi, has come under scrutiny and sparked controversy for
being deemed too high, steep, and dangerous to road users.

In response, Bekasi Mayor Tri Adhianto has requested that the road be
immediately closed and demolished.

“Yesterday, we already asked for it to be closed. Because it is
highly dangerous for the existing traffic, too high and too sharp,” Tri
said when met at the Bekasi City Hall Plaza on Monday (4/5/2026).

He emphasised that the Bekasi City Government will conduct a thorough
evaluation of existing buildings, especially those that could
potentially harm the public.

“We will evaluate the existing buildings. Everything must comply with
the rules and not harm the surrounding residents,” he said.

Previously, the condition of the curved road in the area had gone
viral on social media.

In the circulating video, a road resembling a dyke is visible, with a
sharp incline and considerable elevation.

Resident of RT 15 Pondok Mitra Lestari (PML), Andi Firdaus, assessed
that the infrastructure development poses a risk to the safety of road
users.

“From a physical infrastructure perspective, it’s not normal even if
called a speed bump because it’s too high, around 1.5 metres. If called
a dyke, it doesn’t look like one because it serves as a main road
access,” Andi told Kompas.com on Wednesday (18/2/2026).
",
