Curtailing supermarkets<\/p>\n

Efforts to revive the economic standards of the public has
\nbeen the focus of the media lately. The government has finally
\ndecided to curtail supermarket businesses in small towns at
\nregency levels, while on-going supermarkets in the various
\nregions are expected to join traditional cooperatives.<\/p>\n
I wholly support the decision to restrict big businesses in
\nsmall towns. If nothing is done about it, numerous small
\nbusinesses will eventually find themselves at a huge
\ndisadvantage.<\/p>\n
Every time a supermarket or department store sprouts up,
\ntraditional markets in the surrounding area are badly affected.
\nIt seems that government has encouraged this situation.<\/p>\n
I suggest that the authorities draft strict regulations on
\nsmall, middle and big businesses (conglomerates). These
\nregulations should be clearly listed and announced to the public.
\nPublicity, in this case, is necessary, so that the public can
\nlearn the regulations.<\/p>\n
It is no longer a secret that giant companies have entered
\ninto various business enterprises everywhere uninhibited. They
\nresemble octopuses, ready to devour anything (small businesses
\nand cooperatives) in their reach.<\/p>\n
It is hoped that the new rule will make all parties aware of
\neconomic octopuses. I would like to further suggest that
\ngovernment be more selective when licensing is involved.<\/p>\n
As for small businesses and cooperatives, they need to realize
\nthat they should cooperate in staving off economic octopuses,
\nwhich should be staying clear from small regency towns anyway.<\/p>\n
