The Ministry of Communication and Digital (Komdigi) is targeting 12\nmillion digital talents by 2030. However, the current availability of\ndigital talent stands at 9.3 million. Consequently, Komdigi aims to\nproduce 450,000 digital talents every year.<\/p>\n
This presents a significant challenge, underscorting that digital\ntalent development is no longer an option but a national strategic\nmovement to maintain Indonesia\u2019s economic competitiveness in the digital\nera.<\/p>\n
To address this need, Ngalup.co has been appointed as the organising\npartner for the Jagoan Hosting Innovation Competition (JHIC) 2026. The\nprogramme was initiated by Jagoan Hosting and is supported by the\nMinistry of Communication and Digital (Komdigi).<\/p>\n
Through JHIC, Ngalup.co provides a project-based learning space for\nhigh school and vocational school (SMA\/SMK) students to develop\ncreativity, technological skills, and problem-solving abilities. This\nyear, JHIC has expanded its focus from digital infrastructure to more\ninclusive digital innovation, making it open to participants from\nvarious backgrounds, including those without a prior foundation in\ninformation technology.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe designed JHIC not merely as a competition, but as a learning\nspace that connects participants with real-world challenges and needs in\nthe digital world. We want participants to be brave in developing ideas,\ntesting solutions, and gaining experience relevant to industry needs,\u201d\nsaid Andy Novianto, General Manager of Juju Hosting.<\/p>\n
JHIC 2026 features several categories, including Web Development and\nDigital Business Challenge, which encourage participants to develop\nschool websites or application-based digital solutions for various\nsectors such as careers, finance, tourism, and health. Additionally,\nthere is the Digital Innovation Driver category, which recognises\nteachers and educators who utilise technology in teaching.<\/p>\n
Reflecting on previous years, JHIC has involved over 1,000\nparticipants from various schools across Java, Sulawesi, Sumatra, and\nKalimantan. In the 2025 implementation, 185 vocational school students\nfrom 30 finalist teams competed nationally by building school websites\nbased on cloud technology. This achievement serves as a stepping stone\nfor JHIC 2026 to expand access and provide a more inclusive digital\ntalent development experience.<\/p>\n
\u201cThrough JHIC, we want to ensure that the opportunity to learn and\ninnovate in the digital field is not only open to those who already\npossess technical skills. Ideas, creativity, and the ability to identify\nproblems are also vital components of digital talent,\u201d said Irfan.<\/p>\n
In addition to fostering young digital talent, the JHIC 2026 series\nalso serves as a momentum to introduce the use of technology in\nsupporting the competency development of educators. One such initiative\nis Winasis, a Learning Management System (LMS) developed by Jagoan\nHosting to support the training and certification needs of teachers,\nparticularly SMA\/SMK teachers in the Special Region of Yogyakarta\n(DIY).<\/p>\n
As part of these activities, approximately 4,600 headteachers and\nteachers throughout DIY will have the opportunity to try Winasis\ndirectly. The platform will eventually be managed by the Department of\nEducation, Youth, and Sports (Dikpora) of DIY as an effort to expand\naccess to more flexible learning and teacher competency development.<\/p>\n
\u201cWinasis is a Learning Management System (LMS) resulting from the\ncollaboration between Dikpora Jogja, Jagoan Hosting, and Ngalup for the\ndigitalisation and quality improvement of education and teachers across\nDIY. The hope is that Winasis can become a solution to expand teachers\u2019\naccess to learning and competency development more flexibly,\u201d said\nAndy.<\/p>\n
According to Andy, digital talent development must be carried out\nsustainably and should not only target students. Strengthening teacher\ncompetence is also a crucial part, as teachers play a strategic role in\npreparing a generation capable of adapting to technological\nadvancements.<\/p>\n
\u201cJHIC is not just about producing winners. We want to build an\nexperience that makes participants more prepared to face the digital\nworld through training, mentoring, real projects, and opportunities to\nfamiliarise themselves with the industry ecosystem. On the other hand,\nthrough Winasis, we also see the importance of strengthening the\ncapacity of educators as part of that ecosystem,\u201d added Andy.<\/p>\n
The JHIC 2026 series begins with the registration phase from 19 June\nto 14 August 2026, followed by the Kickoff and Preliminary stages on 12\nSeptember 2026 in Yogyakarta, intensive bootcamps, and the final stage\non 17 October 2026. JHIC roadshows will also be held in several cities,\nincluding Semarang, Yogyakarta, Solo, Purwokerto, Surabaya, and other\nareas in East Java.<\/p>\n
Through the implementation of JHIC 2026, Ngalup.co and Jagoan Hosting\nare promoting collaboration between industry, the education sector, and\nthe government to create broader access to competency development.
