Car drivers are almost always robbed of their rearview mirrors
\nin a blatant manner in broad daylight. The situation is even
\nworse in the evening on Jl. Cempaka Putih in Central Jakarta and
\non Jl. Perintis in East Jakarta during heavy rains.<\/p>\n
This usually happens when a car has to wait at a traffic light
\nor when drivers are caught in a hopeless traffic jam. Yet, only a
\nfew meters from the above crime locations is a police post.
\nDrivers say that such incidents even happen while officers are on
\nduty at the crossroad.<\/p>\n
It is also said that after the crime, thieves usually run to
\ntheir nearest hideout, a squatter area, which is home to these
\nbandits.<\/p>\n
The problem is, why are such crimes often repeated without any
\nconcrete action from the authorities, who should teach these
\npetty thieves a lesson?<\/p>\n
We would appreciate a reply and serious attention from the
\nauthorities after our repeated appeals concerning the problem.
\nThe crime continues to take place and the criminals are still at
\nlarge.<\/p>\n
Or should the Army commander or even the President have to
\nintervene in the matter?<\/p>\n
