Croda opens chemical complex<\/p>\n
SINGAPORE (AFP): The Singapore unit of Britain's Croda
\nInternational Plc. opened here on Tuesday a S$450 million
\n(US$29.4 million) chemicals complex.<\/p>\n
It is the largest single investment by Croda, the world's
\nleading manufacturer of lanolin, an important ingredient in the
\npersonal care products industry, officials said.<\/p>\n
\"Our new plant incorporates state-of-the-art technology,
\ncombining new, improved production processes with the latest
\ncomputerized control systems,\" the chairman of Croda
\nInternational, Keith Hopkins, said at the opening ceremony.<\/p>\n
The new complex of Croda Singapore Pte. Ltd., situated on
\nSingapore's petrochemical hub of Jurong Island, is capable of
\nproducing 15,000 tons per year each of speciality esters and
\nspeciality alkoxylates to meet the growing demand in the Asia
\nPacific region, officials said.<\/p>",
