Court upholds Sinyo's win<\/p>\n
JAKARTA: The Supreme Court upheld on Thursday the victory of
\nSinyo Sarundayang and his running mate Freddy Sualang in the
\nelection for North Sulawesi governor and deputy.<\/p>\n
The panel of judges said the plaintiffs, the two out-polled
\ntickets of Ferry Tinggogoy\/Hamdi Paputungan and Wenny
\nWarouw\/Marhany Pua, had failed to provide enough evidence to
\ncontest the election result, which was made official by the
\nprovincial elections commission.<\/p>\n
It was the first dispute regarding gubernatorial election
\nresult heard by the Supreme Court, the verdict of which is final.<\/p>\n
The plaintiffs had said the election commission failed to
\nregister around 30,000 eligible voters, but the judges said it
\nwould be too little to change the result, which saw Indonesian
\nDemocratic Party of Struggle candidates Sinyo and Freddy secure
