        "content": "<p>Council agree on PT Waserda Jaya<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): City Council endorsed on Friday a bylaw which<br>\nallows the city administration's Rp 4 billion (US$571,430)<br>\ncapital investment in the newly-established retail firm PT<br>\nWaserda Jaya.<\/p>\n<p>The firm, was established in May this year, is 95 percent<br>\nowned by the city administration and 5 percent owned by city-<br>\nowned market operator PD Pasar Jaya.<\/p>\n<p>Waserda Jaya would supply needs of mini stores owned by<br>\ncooperatives in 265 districts here and also assist the management<br>\nof the stores.<\/p>\n<p>Governor Sutiyoso said the stores could compete with<br>\nsupermarkets if they were properly managed, citing that only few<br>\nof them had good management system.<\/p>\n<p>\"In the future, the Cooperatives could buy it Waserda Jaya's<br>\nshares if runs well and gains profits,\" he said.
