On several occasions he even said he would direct the <br>\ncorruption eradication movement himself.<\/p>\n<p>Indonesia belongs to the group of most corrupt countries, <br>\noccupying top place on Transparency International's corruption <br>\nlist. This has been due to the lack of serious attempts to fight <br>\ncorruption, with no punishments imposed in major cases.<\/p>\n<p>Former deputy prime minister of Malaysia Anwar Ibrahim has <br>\ncommented that Indonesia should be proud of its democracy because <br>\nthe nation no longer has a culture of fear. Indonesians now enjoy <br>\npress, judicial, economic and even religious freedom.<\/p>\n<p>Freedom is far more significant than economic progress, <br>\nbecause through freedom and democracy, Indonesia has the <br>\nopportunity to achieve greater economic advancement.
