Correctional officials visit Bali<\/p>\n
DENPASAR, Bali: Bangli prison for drug-addicted prisoners and
\nDenpasar prison will be visited by 125 correctional institute
\nofficials from 25 Asia Pacific countries, who will convene here
\nin October.<\/p>\n
Denpasar penitentiary warden Dedi Sutardi told reporters here
\nthat the congress participants chose the two Bali prisons as
\nbeing representative of correctional institute management in
\nIndonesia.<\/p>\n
Half of the 330 inmates in Denpasar prison will be moved to
\nBangli prison, which was built especially for prisoners involved
\nin drug abuse.<\/p>\n
Dedi said Denpasar prison had upgraded its environment and
\nbeen adorned with plants. Such an atmosphere was good for inmates
\nwho wished to consider their futures, he said.<\/p>\n
The international conference is scheduled to take place
\nbetween Oct. 13 and Oct. 18. -- Antara<\/p>",
