Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Coordinating Ministry for Community\nEmpowerment (Kemenko PM) has expressed its appreciation for the\nstrategic collaboration between Baznas RI and BPJS Ketenagakerjaan\nthrough the launch of the 2026 Baznas Social Security (JSB) programme\nfor vulnerable workers.<\/p>\n
Dyah Tri Kumolosari, Deputy for the Coordination of Social Welfare\nImprovement at Kemenko PM, stated that this programme is vital as the\nassistance for Work Accident Insurance (JKK) and Death Benefits (JKM)\ntargets 100,000 informal workers and communities in underdeveloped\nareas, ensuring an economic safety net.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur thanks go to Baznas and BPJS Ketenagakerjaan, who, alongside the\ngovernment, are present to assist the poor and underprivileged. This\nprogramme should continue for the 100,000 workers in need, ranging from\ninformal workers to communities in underdeveloped regions,\u201d she said in\na statement in Jakarta on Saturday.<\/p>\n
Dyah noted that this protection scheme is crucial to prevent poor\nfamilies from falling into even more vulnerable economic conditions when\naccidents or work-related mishaps occur.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf such risks occur, it does not only affect the worker but also\ntheir children and families at home. Therefore, if a disaster occurs\nduring work, or results in death or disability, they will receive\ncompensation from BPJS Ketenagakerjaan,\u201d Dyah added.<\/p>\n
Similarly, the Mayor of South Tangerang, Pilar Saga Ichsan,\nappreciated the presence of the social security assistance and community\nempowerment programme initiated by the ministry, Baznas, and BPJS\nKetenagkerjaan.<\/p>\n
\u201cOn behalf of the South Tangerang City Government, representing the\nMayor, we certainly express our appreciation and gratitude to the\nCoordinating Ministry for Community Empowerment of the Republic of\nIndonesia and also Baznas for bringing this programme to the people of\nSouth Tangerang,\u201d said Pilar.<\/p>\n
It is known that the Baznas Social Security programme consists of\nBPJS Ketenagakerjaan membership assistance, specifically for Work\nAccident Insurance (JKK) and Death Benefits (JKM) for a period of six\nmonths. Beneficiaries are vulnerable workers who meet the criteria as\n\u2018mustahik\u2019 (zakat recipients).<\/p>\n
The programme targets 100,000 vulnerable workers in at least 10\npriority provinces. Of this number, 30 per cent of beneficiaries are\ntargeted from frontier, outermost, and least developed (3T) regions,\nwhile the remaining 70 per cent will come from other areas, considering\neconomic vulnerability and zakat recipient criteria.<\/p>\n
