        "content": "<p>Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment, Muhaimin Iskandar,\nor Cak Imin, stated that the case of molestation involving dozens of\nfemale students at the Tahfidzul Qur\u2019an Ndolo Kusumo Islamic boarding\nschool in Pati Regency is a serious alarm. He even assessed the\nperpetrator, who is the head of the boarding school, as a fake kiai.\n\u201cWhat happened in Pati, by someone claiming to be a fake pesantren kiai,\nin my view, this must serve as an alarm,\u201d said Cak Imin to reporters at\nthe BP Jamsostek Plaza on Friday, 8 May 2026. Cak Imin even described\nthe situation as an emergency in addressing violence in educational\ninstitutions, particularly pesantren. He then encouraged that every\nstudent receive training on their personal rights before pursuing\neducation in pesantren. According to Cak Imin, many victims do not\nunderstand their rights, making them easy to manipulate by perpetrators.\n\u201cThe students, before starting pesantren, must receive orientation on\ntheir rights so they cannot be manipulated,\u201d Cak Imin concluded.\nPreviously reported, the founder of the Tahfidzul Qur\u2019an Ndolo Kusumo\nIslamic Boarding School in Pati, Central Java, Kiai Ashari, has been\ncharged with multiple articles carrying a potential sentence of up to 15\nyears in prison. Kiai Ashari is known to be a suspect in the alleged\nmolestation of female students. The imposition of heavy articles was\ncarried out after investigators found allegations of repeated sexual\nviolence against the victim over a considerable period of time. The Pati\nCity Police Chief, Commissioner Jaka Wahyudi, stated that AS is charged\nunder the Child Protection Law regarding the alleged molestation of\nminors. \u201c(The suspect is charged with) Article 76E in conjunction with\nArticle 83 of Law No.\u00a017 of 2016 on Child Protection with a maximum\nprison sentence of 15 years,\u201d he said on Thursday, 7 May 2026. In\naddition to the Child Protection Law, investigators also applied the\nSexual Violence Crime Law (TPKS) to the suspect. \u201cIn addition, AS is\nalso charged with Article 6 letter c in conjunction with Article 15\nparagraph 1 letter e of Law No.\u00a012 of 2022 on Sexual Violence Crimes\nwith a maximum prison sentence of 12 years,\u201d he said.
