The Ministry of Cooperatives (Kemenkop) is accelerating the\noperationalisation of the Merah Putih Village\/Sub-district Cooperatives\n(KDKMP) through technical socialisation, physical verification of\nbusiness facilities, and the placement of professional managers.<\/p>\n
Cooperative Minister Ferry Juliantono, in a press release in Jakarta\non Monday, stated that this acceleration is necessary to ensure that\nKDKMP can promptly enter the operational phase on the ground.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe must move even faster in the field for the operationalisation\nstage,\u201d said Ferry during a working visit to Susukan District,\nBanjarnegara Regency, Central Java, on Sunday (10\/9).<\/p>\n
He explained that the first step taken by Kemenkop is providing\ntechnical socialisation regarding the operational mechanisms of KDKMP\nbusiness units to cooperative administrators.<\/p>\n
Furthermore, Kemenkop will accelerate the process of physical\nverification and validation of warehouse buildings and outlets, up to\nthe stage of issuing the Handover Certificate (BAST).<\/p>\n
Kemenkop will also immediately deploy recruited professional managers\nto oversee the daily operational activities of the cooperatives in each\nregion.<\/p>\n
Ferry stated that accelerating the operationalisation of KDKMP is\npart of the government\u2019s effort to restore cooperatives as one of the\nmain drivers of the national economy, alongside State-Owned Enterprises\n(BUMN) and the private sector.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the Regent of Banjarnegara, Amalia Desiana, expressed the\nreadiness of the local government, down to the village level, to support\nthe operationalisation of KDKMP in her region. She hopes that the\npresence of KDKMP can serve as a platform for villagers to develop and\nincrease the market value of various local products.<\/p>\n
Based on data from the Merah Putih Village\/Sub-district Cooperative\nInformation System (Simkopdes) as of 14 September 2024, a total of\n83,367 Merah Putih Village\/Sub-district Cooperatives (KDKMP) have been\nformed. However, not all of these cooperatives possess operational\nfacilities such as buildings, warehouses, outlets, and other supporting\ninfrastructure.<\/p>\n
Of that total, 24,701 KDKMP have completed the construction of\noperational facilities, while 10,866 KDKMP are still in the construction\nphase.<\/p>\n
During the visit to Banjarnegara Regency, the Minister also inspected\nthe Kamukten Nira Producer Cooperative in Susukan Village, which has\ndeveloped coconut sap-based products in the form of coconut sugar. The\nMinister noted that the cooperative has successfully penetrated the\nGerman market and received validation from Fairtrade institutions in the\nUnited Kingdom.
