He believes that saving for\nretirement in the future is no longer relevant because developments in\nartificial intelligence (AI) and robotics will completely transform the\nglobal economic system.<\/p>\n<p>Musk states that society does not need to worry too much about\nlong-term savings as traditionally recommended by financial advisors.\n\u201cDon\u2019t worry about saving money for retirement in 10 or 20 years. That\nwon\u2019t matter,\u201d Musk said, as quoted from Fortune on Monday, 27 April\n2026.<\/p>\n<p>He bases this statement on his belief that the world will enter an\nera of abundance thanks to AI, robots, and advancing energy technology.\nAccording to him, productivity increases will be so significant that the\nconcept of scarcity will no longer apply.<\/p>\n<p>Musk even predicts that in the coming years, artificial intelligence\nwill surpass the collective capabilities of humanity. \u201cBy 2030, AI will\nsurpass the intelligence of all humans combined,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>He also estimates that the number of humanoid robots will exceed the\nnumber of humans on Earth, which will then replace many types of jobs,\nparticularly office work.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAI can do half or more of the jobs that exist today, except those\nrequiring complex physical manipulation,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>In that scenario, Musk imagines a world without the economic\nlimitations we have now.
