Contribution for thought When I paid my telephone bill earlier this week, I was surprised to see that an extra Rp 1,000 was added on to the bill, as a contribution to the SEA Games. Like it or not, you have to pay it and there is no point in arguing about it. But I would be really surprised if the next four consecutive months of bills would also carry the same amount of contribution to the same games.",

Like it or not, you have to
pay it and there is no point in arguing about it. But I would be
really surprised if the next four consecutive months of bills
would also carry the same amount of contribution to the same
games. Can anybody imagine how much money would be collected in
this way, and without resistance from the public?

The story does not end there. What about electricity and
water bills? Would those bills be burdened by the same
contribution? (at least rumor has said so) For this I'll have to
wait until the day I pay them. Whatever the case may be, the
amount of money collected will be fantastic. My simple thought is
that it is easy enough to collect funds from the people, but it
is difficult to give an account of how the funds are going to be
spent.

Name and address

known to the editor
",
