        "content": "<p>Budi Hermanto, alias BH, has been charged with 12 years imprisonment\nin a rape case involving an underage girl with initials D. The\n42-year-old construction worker appeared before the Gianyar District\nCourt.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are demanding 12 years imprisonment. According to us, he has been\nproven to have violated Article 473 paragraph 2 letter b of the new\nCriminal Code,\u201d said Public Prosecutor Dayu Dian following the hearing\nat Gianyar District Court on Thursday, 12 March 2026.<\/p>\n<p>Dian explained that during the trial, evidence emerged of coercion\nused by Budi when committing the crime. As a result of the incident, the\nvictim, who was only 15 years old, suffered severe depression.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere was violence. The victim\u2019s mental state was severely\naffected,\u201d said Dian.<\/p>\n<p>Dian stated that the incident occurred on 10 October 2025 at\napproximately 09:30 WITA at a worker\u2019s shelter at a hotel construction\nsite in Banjar Kelod Belumbang, Kenderan Village, Tegallalang\nDistrict.<\/p>\n<p>At that time, the victim was resting in the worker\u2019s shelter because\nshe was ill.\u00a0Budi then approached the victim and pretended to check on\nher condition.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBudi entered the victim\u2019s room. His excuse was to check on the\nvictim who was unwell,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>According to Dian, the victim knew Budi because her parents also\nworked at the same construction project.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe victim was aware of Budi because her parents also worked at the\nsame project,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<p>Inside the shelter, Budi then raped the victim. The victim attempted\nto resist and screamed during the incident. However, because she was\nill, the victim could not do much.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe victim tried to resist. But due to fear, the victim could not do\nanything,\u201d said Dian.<\/p>\n<p>The incident became known to the victim\u2019s parents shortly after it\noccurred.
