This was discussed during a meeting between Minister of Social\nAffairs Saifullah Yusuf and the Regent of Tasikmalaya at the Ministry of\nSocial Affairs office in Jakarta on Wednesday (3\/6\/2026).<\/p>\n
The Regent of Tasikmalaya, Cecep Nurul Yakin, was accompanied by the\nHead of the Social Affairs, Population Control, Family Welfare, and\nChild Protection Agency (Dinas Sosial PPKB P3A), Wini, the Head of the\nPublic Works, Spatial Planning, Housing, and Environment Agency (Dinas\nPUTRLH), Deden Ramdhan Nugraha, the Head of the Social Rehabilitation\nDivision, Bonbon Sahroni, and the Head of the Health Service Division of\nthe Health Office, Otong Kusmana.<\/p>\n
During the meeting, the Tasikmalaya Regency Government reported that\nthe land preparation progress is targeted to be completed by the end of\nJune 2026. The prepared land covers an area of approximately 8.23\nhectares and has been certified.<\/p>\n
Cecep stated that the location of the People\u2019s School is about 300\nmeters from the provincial road and is supported by a plan for the\ngradual completion of basic infrastructure.<\/p>\n
\u201cLand preparation is targeted to be completed by the end of June.\nAccess to the location is relatively close to the provincial road, and\nthe supporting infrastructure is currently being completed,\u201d said Cecep\nin a written statement on Thursday (4\/6\/2026).<\/p>\n
The supporting infrastructure being prepared includes road access,\nelectricity network, and water supply through boreholes. Road access is\nbeing handled in stages by utilizing existing roads before permanent\nstrengthening is carried out.<\/p>\n
In line with these preparations, the People\u2019s School in Tasikmalaya\nRegency has entered the third phase of construction, with the initial\nphase being land preparation and access provision.<\/p>\n
The third phase of construction is scheduled to begin in August 2026\nand will be followed by the implementation of construction in October\n2026, depending on the technical readiness on the ground.<\/p>\n
Minister of Social Affairs Saifullah Yusuf (Gus Ipul) stated that the\nimplementation of the People\u2019s School is carried out through a\ncollaborative mechanism between the central government and local\ngovernments.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe outreach to prospective students is carried out jointly by the\nlocal government and the Ministry of Social Affairs, with the final\ndetermination made by the regional head,\u201d said Gus Ipul.<\/p>\n
The People\u2019s School is designed as a boarding school with a large\ncapacity, which can accommodate approximately 1,000 students.<\/p>\n
Nationally, the construction of the People\u2019s School is being carried\nout in stages at more than 100 locations. The facilities being built\ninclude classrooms, dormitories, laboratories, places of worship, and\nother supporting facilities.<\/p>\n
In Tasikmalaya Regency, the People\u2019s School area is also planned to\nbe integrated with the construction of an educational hospital in\ncollaboration with Padjadjaran University.<\/p>\n
